Hi Jenell, Glad to hear you're doing well. I've enjoyed reading your website to see how your family is doing. After talking to you on the phone and reading your story, it's amazing how similar our triplet stories are from the pre-eclampsia/mag sulfate right down to the 2 identical/onefraternal. Please feel free to stay in touch if you have any questions and I hope to meet all of you in person soon.

Hi Jenell, Kerry and girls, It's great to hear from you. And I hope you continue to do well in your recovery Jenell. It takes a while, you just had major surgery! Kerry Sr called and left me a message last night. He said all three babies were beautiful! I am anxious to see them. You all continue to be in my prayers. With Love, Aunt Bobbie

congrats X 3!!!!!
hang in there, the pain will get better- or you will get used to it (i never could figure out which really happens) -watch your incision site- i had trouble with the top of mine trying to seperate- you should have stitches & then staples holding it all together on top- be very careful once you start sitting in something OTHER than that wheel chair- i had a tendency to sit cross legged in the huge chairs in the nicu(i am very short) and the pull & strain on the top of my incision caused a lot of agravation-
USE THE BOPPY if you have one-if not, you may want to have someone bring you one-it makes it a LOT easier when holding your babies while in the nicu-you should be given a cubby or bin or something where you can store personal items for you/the babies while they are in there- once they "graduate" to wearing clothes, you will probably want to bring them their own because if your nicu is like ours, there was a shortage of preemie clothes(especially micro)-
remember that the social worker for the nicu is YOUR BEST FRIEND right now-& they can help you with accomadations because you live out of town-(for your husband & daughter too)-
remember that if you dont understand something(i scoured my babies charts while they were there) ASK them to explain it!- you are going to be inundated with all sorts of info & decisions & things -
you also will want to keep a diary of some sort & take loads of pics even if you dont think you want to remember them hooked up to wires & all- you will appreciate those later- also try to take pics of them beside some object like a small stuffed animal so you can show them how tiny they were when they are older! you (believe it or not) will get used to them being tiny & only will realize that they arent normal sized if you go out with them (which you most likely wont til they are much older) -also its comforting to document their milestones- they will be getting their first bottle soon & you can ask them to teach you how to help them learn to eat so you can give it to them- but you may have to ask the nurses on that one (because you already have one child, they may let you-i was lucky that way)- anyways- keep a journal for them & for you-& take pictures!!! some of our fave's are from the hospital!
remember to go slow, you just had MAJOR surgery!!! you will feel awful @ first- but if you are anything like i was, the fact that everyone got to meet my babies before i did was just TOO much & i spent an entire night acclimating myself to walking & standing & sitting in a normal chair by myself so that i could see my babies and take care of them- just BE CAREFUL!!!!
and enjoy your babies!!! you deserve it! well done!
