Off to the Hospital again today

For the second time this week (and the fourth day) we went back to the hospital this morning.
My symptoms are getting worse and it’s harder for me to hang on, but I know that is the best thing for these precious girls. I have severe heartburn, swollen feet and legs, headach, my blood pressure is high, I only got 2 hours of sleep last night-not to mention diagnosed gallstones and pre-clamcia- to top it off I can hardly breath (which is why I went in this morning.) The doctor gave me some Tylenol… that combined with a different sitting position seemed to help me get my breathing back.

I don’t know how I’m making it, besides Kerry, Lilly and our supportive family. My Aunt Elayne is taking such good care of us as we bunker down at her house for the weekend until our appt on Monday. I’m on 100% full bedrest- I can only get up to use the bathroom/shower.  Kerry is working from home now until we deliver- He is going to work and help with Lilly throughout the day. The company he works for has been overwhelmingly supportive as well.

We still need to go in on Monday for a checkup again. Today they checked the babies again, with an ultrasound. They said I’m doing great and should be proud of myself, which I am in a way I guess. He also said that the babies look really healthy, they have good fluid around them, there heartbeats are really strong and they all are practicing breathing, which is a miracle to watch. So thats, that, I will keep all of you updated on how the girls and myself are doing. Thanks everyone for reading.

My goal is still 36 weeks- hopefully no more surprise doctor visits.

We missed you at the family picnic. Your dad let us know what was going on. Jenell you are amazing. I think I would have to go to the nut house if I had to go through what your are. Just remember YOU get an additional three times the hugs, three times the kisses and three times the love. You are truly a lucky mom. Hang in there.

hang in there- you are doing well as can be expected given the overcrowding! the heartburn isnt going away til you deliver- sorry about that! you may have one of the babies trying to use your stomach as a pillow (my daughter did just that and it caused heartburn & having to sleep sitting up)- there are a few things you can do about the heartburn if you havent tried em already- stick to non-acidic foods- nothing with tomato bases- things like white sauces with pasta work well, ice-cream/dairy products work well-try bread or cookies (like pecan sandies)- lightly seasoned chicken and salmon worked for me too- you cant get rid of ALL the symptoms, but you can minimize the ick factor by eliminating the acidic foods- if you have access to a recliner, you may find it easier to sleep in it with it reclined and your belly propped with pillows-if you have boppy’s for the babies, those work well for propping bellies pre-delivery! and you will break em in for when you need them most! also a body pillow might help support the weight of your tummy- hmmm- you already know that water is your best ally in all this-adds fluid for the babies and keeps contractions away-
hope that helps & good luck! we are all rooting for you!

Jen, I was just thinking about you since you were in so much pain. When you posted you felt as though someone kicked you in the crotch, I had no idea what you were talking about until about 1 week ago. My God, I can’t even stand up without me feeling I am going to go into labor. I am in a lot of pain also. I just passed 32 weeks and my doc wants to go to 35w4d. Yeah, right.

Anyway, you are doing awesome and you are so close. This will be over soon and you will be able to get your body back. The pain from the surgery is a little tough, just stay on top of the pain with the pain killers. I have had abdominal surgery before and I let the pain catch up to me. Not good.

Please keep all of us posted at TC. We are all pulling for you. You are already past the most important milestone.

I stumbled across your website today and wish I would have done so earlier. I am pregnant with triplets as well, and I am 32 weeks. We are expecting two girls and one boy.

I understand exactly how you are feeling and my doctors visits are now up to 3 times a week. I can’t breath most of the day, and have recently started with cramping at night. One of my babies (my son) is breeched and I feel every movement ‘down below’. Not fun at all. But like you…I am just hanging in there for them. It will be worth it all.

Keep up the fight….You’re reward is coming!
