How will we tell our triplets apart ?

We’ve been keeping up to date on a triplets forum and some other sites. It’s amazing how many people are in our situation out there. We recently talked to a women expecting triplets, all girls and she is one week behind Jenell ! Another couple is expecting all boys and they live in the same state as us.
In all of the cases of “multiples” in particular identical ones out there- There has had to have been some mix ups. With the stress of multiples- lack of sleep- and all of the diapers- Some parent out there has had to have mixed up their kids. I guess if nobody knows , nobody gets hurt- but its just interesting to think that little Joey is all grown up now and he doesn’t even know he was once little Timmy ! He is wandering around life with someone else’s name and identity, social security number. His friends, his family even the government are all fooled. Every time someone says “Hey Joey” they are not speaking the truth.
I guess it’s a waste of time to worry about a possible mistake that will never affect anybody, unless your an identical and your name is “Mortimer” or “Ebeneezer” or maybe “Gunther” !
Kerry (thats what they call me anyway ! )

We were lucky with our girls. Even though they are identical, Francesca needed to have her I.V. inserted in her head, so she had a small shaved spot on her head. If I couldn’t tell who I was holding/changing/feeding/whatever, I would just turn her to look for “the spot”. This worked well enough until her hair grew in, then we used a small dot of red nail polish on one of their toenails. Once they get a bit bigger, you won’t have a problem telling them apart because of the personalities they will develop. You’ll do fine!!

You’ll be able to tell them apart- if they end up totally identical in everyway (& they usually won’t be-their personalities are going to be different) then you can always use temporary tattoos if you need to! we had a set ready to go because we weren’t sure about my boys-turned out different as night & day! seriously though- pay attention to their ultrasound pics & movements & you may find that you can already tell them apart- each of mine exhibited certain traits that they still have even today- kai still kicks his legs out when he is frustrated or just wants to fidget- kian does this softshoe kinda thing with his feet when he dances or is happy-we call it his happy dance & my daughter is very careful in everything she does-when she gets in a bind, she heads for the hills so to speak or climbs up & clutches my neck!
this isnt going to be as difficult as it sounds! its just the unknown part that is scary!
plus if they are anything like mine, they all had different body shapes- (one was much skinnier than the other 2 and one was much shorter! & they tend to grow @ different rates consistently!)
good luck!
