Triplets Update 7/31

The triplets are doing very well. We may bring Alyssa and Katie home next week !

They are feeding 100% through a bottle now and don’t require the feeding tube. Emma is doing well too, but needs to improve on bottle feeding.

The s were moved to a different  part of the NICU-it’s a bit smaller.

Lilly had another good day at school- she loves it!

Starting on Monday, Lilly will be attending the Milwaukee Montessori School.

She will be attending half days in the mornings. This will help us out so much- currently one of us watches Lilly and the other is with the girls throughout the day. Coupled with the fact that Kerry is still working remotely on some projects AND he has been sick and unable to see the girls the last 2 days- it has been very dificult.

The school is great, they teach the toddlers art, music, dance- how to button their coats! they have play time outside. What we really like is that they have set routines everyday. The kids really get into a routine- which will be great for Lilly during this very chaotic time.

All of this was made possible unexpectedly, and by someone on the other side of the world ! Lilly’s aunt Holly- who lives in Thailand wanted to help out. Not an easy task from the other side of the world. Turns out this will help us more than if Holly was here standing next to us. It will give Lilly interaction with kids and give us time with the triplets. And to top it off , the school is less than a mile from the hospital.

It’s not easy to get into this school (it is a private school- not a daycare) especially as the summer programming only has 1 month left. Holly arranged the entire thing and she is paying for it too.

THANK YOU SO MUCH HOLLY !

Hi there everyone Jenell here, I’m going to write a quick post. We are currently home for a hour or two to get ready for the girls arrival home, no we don’t know when that will be, but hopefully soon! Anyways, I am doing ok, still recovering, very sore from my c-section, but Kerry has been so good to me, a real trooper! I’m walking around and doing my own thing, but slowly. Lilly is doing good, but she misses home and her dog Colby I do too…Everyone has been so great taking her to the parks and out to eat and just taking her to have some social time.

Holly, her aunt for those of you who don’t know, is generous enough to help out in her own way by sending Lilly to Montessori school. Kerry and Lilly were there for a tour and said its great and she will love it. She will be there part time each day which will give us more time together with the girls. Currently (if no onw has Lilly) we work in shifts- watching Lilly or being with the girls.

Lilly knows who her sisters are and that she has three of them. I was holding Emma yesterday and feeding her from a bottle and Lilly took it really well. She was touching her sisters face and hands, it was so cute and good to see. She loves her little sisters!

The girls are doing great, better than expected! They are off of everything, but the feeding tubes, they are feeding from bottles though, but slowly and a table spoon or two at that. They all are growing bigger too, they are all above 3 pounds now and growing. Alyssa was the biggest, but her little sister Emma caught up to her and is a little heavier by a few ounces. Katie is still the peanut, but getting bigger. They are all doing exceptionally well for there gestational age. They are now 2 weeks and 1 day old. Oh do I wish they were home! Soon though! I can just say we are truly blessed they are doing good and Lilly is healthy as well.

So thats it for now from me…I hope to see some of you at the hospital soon! Anyone who would like to come see them, you are more than welcome to come just call Kerry’s cell to make sure we are there at that time

Hi all, this has to be a quick post from me as I am extremely exhausted. The long wait is finally over, we delivered our beautiful triplets July 9th at 10:32pm. I am so happy they are here. They are just beautiful and look like our Lilly. She is doing great with all of this, I wasn’t sure how she was going to take it, but very well so far. Lilly can name all of her sisters. But calls Emma Dmma, so cute!

I am so tired and feel beat up from every angle. The meds they are giving me are not enough! They used staples and one is pinching me…

My recovery has been hard. Due to the pre clamcia my blood pressure was very high and they had to put me on magnesium. I’m also on several pain pills. I was very dizzy earlier and they ran an MRI and catscan to make sure I had no blood clots. The tests were OK however I do have liquid in my lungs. This is particularly troublesome because it forces me to cough— nothing is more painful for my Csection than coughing.

I don’t know when I will be out of the hospital- its been hard- without Lilly Kerry could stay here with me and check in on the girls… he was at a hotel last night with Lilly and we hope to get a room at the ronald McDonald house soon- we are on the list – so we can be close to the trips.

I was able to see the girls again. I held my sweet little Katie, she is the smallest. Oddly enough the smallest one is doing the best. Emma and Alyssa are doing well but they are both on Oxegon. Kerry held Alyssa. We wanted to hold Emma too but my pain returned and we had to head back. We are heading down there again in a few minutes.

Thanks to Aunt Elayne for watching Lilly yesterday so we could be with our girls! And Thanks to aunt Mary for Taking Lilly today… Emma is so cute- she is laid back and she seems to sleep so peacefully with her hands clutched together. Emma and Katie could be identical – Alyssa looks different with darker hair.

I hope to keep everyone updated-they have an internet terminal here at the hospital so If I can get up and around some more we will see– however as you can imagine its tough. Sorry but I’d rather be with my girls ! But with that said I am writing this for myself and our family too- It will be great to look back at this website as a virtual scrapbook years down the road.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to write a quick post on how I am doing since I know a lot of you are following this blog! I am counting down the days for these precious baby girls to arrive. Wednesday I am going to be at 32 weeks which is when most triplet moms deliver, but the way I am going, I might make it until 36 weeks…. lets pray for that!

The babies are doing great, they are constantly moving around and bruising my insides. We have a Dr appt tomorrow and I will be sure to update on hpow it goes. I am constantly growing and so are they, hopefully growing more and more each day! I am more than sore and tired than I can ever describe. Lilly and Kerry have been so helpful to me each and every day.

I am going to try to hold out as long as I can but right now I understand why the other triplet moms beg for a c-section! I don’t know how much longer I can last, its just hurting so much more and more each day, its getting so hard for me to walk and stand, I think if the Dr doesn’t put me on bed-rest, I will do it myself or beg for a c-section soon!

That is how I am doing today, we will see what the ultrasound and the Dr says tomorrow. Pray for the best. Thanks everyone for all the support and care packages. Talking about care packages, our Aunt Mary’s co-worker, who we don’t even know had sent us a care package for the three girls, three beautiful onesies. Thank you so much for thinking of us, we appreciate it! Well good bye for now, I will update how the apt goes tomorrow.

I’ve mentioned before some triplets groups and websites that I visit often. One of them is TripletConnection.org. It’s a forum where we can post questions. I recently posted the following paragraph below-

How did you feel when you found out “It’s Triplets” ??

We have 14 days left until our predicted delivery date. All girls !

I was just thinking about that life changing moment when I was told “wait a minute………………there is more than 1 baby…..ohh wow…. there are 3 babies ! ”

I was overwhelmed, overjoyed and scared for my babies. Shocked…
My husband said he felt blessed (triple blessed), unworthy, proud, he said he felt better than he imagined he would feel if he won the lottery.

1. How were you told you were having triplets ?
2. How did you feel ?
