Update on the Girls
0 Comments | Posted by Jenell in Alyssa, Dr. Appt, Emma, Katie, Lilly, News, Triplets, Update
Hi there everyone, I haven’t been on here for a while, so busy, its unbelievable. Anyways, I am so happy to have all of my little blessings no matter how hard life has become! I just wanted to write really quick while I have a few seconds to myself…The girls are doing great! They all are gaining weigh.
Katie who has always been the lightest was the heaviest last week, now Emma is the heaviest. Alyssa looks the biggest, but believe it or not she is the smallest now. We had to switch her to a different formula because she was not doing well with the carnation. She is eating less, but feels a lot better now.
Today the Nurse came (I love her, she is the best). She comes once a week and weighs them. Alyssa is now 9#9oz, Katie is 9#15oz and Emma is 9#11oz and Lilly is a whopping 38#…So my girls are getting bigger and cuter each passing day! They are also smiling sooo much, its so cute, especially Alyssa, if you smile at her, she gives you the biggest smile ever. They are such happy babies. Well, that is all I have time for…Got to go back to work. I hope to write again soon.
P.S. I wanted to say a special THANK YOU to my very good friend and wonderful volunteer Robin, I don’t know what I would do with out her! She is so special to all of us! Thanks Robin

The first 2 days at home
4 Comments | Posted by Jenell in Alyssa, Emma, Home, Katie, Lilly, News, Triplets, Update
Hi,
Allysa and Emma have been home with us for 2 days. Things are going really well. The night feeds are tough but we will get used to it. We are really getting into a nice schedule. We have a black binder- we write everything down in the binder:
- Feeding times and amount
- Pody chart
- Â Calendar
- Grocery List
It’s making things nice and structured, which really helps. The girls eat every 3-4 hours. We do the same thing each time- Change their diapers, feed and burp and move on to the next one. We are ready to have Katie home with us. Kerry is going to drop off some milk and visit soon.
Lilly has been a great helper- honestly. She is doing very well. We will post some pictures soon,
We will keep you posted when we can !

Alyssa, Emma and Lilly go home
1 Comment | Posted by Jenell in Alyssa, Emma, Katie, Lilly, News, Ronald McDonald House, Triplets, Update
We are taking Alyssa, Emma and Lilly home this afternoon. Katie should follow shortly a few days later. The Dr’s just want to be sure Katie is breathing OK and doesn’t have any
apneas.
We are so happy to go home, although it would be much better with Katie too. We decided to take the girls home as opposed to the Ronald McDonald house. It will be better for them. Kerry will drive back often to be with Katie until we bring her home.
Some quick Updates:
- We had a car seat clinic yesterday. It’s quite a task getting 4 car seats into the car !
- Today is Lilly’s last day of school in Milwaukee – since we’re going home. She will miss her friends and teacher
- The girls are all doing excellent we are so blessed
- Kerry’s new website http://www.multiplesnetwork.com is growing quickly- Word spreads fast ! He really isn’t doing anything and there are already 70+ “multiples” members – and the site is getting like 400-700 visits a day ! We hope the site helps multiples parents just like us !
- We go home today !

Kerry launches new website for Multiples !
1 Comment | Posted by Jenell in Miscellaneous, News, Triplets, twins
Whaaaat? Kerry doesn’t have time to be launching websites!
Weeks before Jenell went into labor I started working on a new website for people interested in twins, triplets and beyond. I just about had the site completed and Jenell decided it was time. I spent a few hours last weekend and finished the site and launched it.
It’s not just any website, it is a social community themed for multiples. It’s similar to facebook.com. It’s free – users can create a custom profile page, the get their own blog, they can upload images, video and more. The community aspect is really cool . You can assign friends and send messages. And everything is tagged- So if I want information on “identical twins” OR “GGG triplets ” it can all be found. Profiles, images, blog posts, files are all tagged.
Jenell and I are members of many triplets forums. It’s amazing how many triplets there are out there- One of the triplets forums has like 80,000 registered users, twins I am sure is 4 x that easily. – Multiples like to stick together- but forums are so “blah” – that is why I wanted to make this site.
The site has only been live a few days but it is doing great. Nearly 40 members already -Yesterday the site received over 700 hundred unique visits!
The other reason I made this site ? I am a geek- AND its a social community, the users generate the content- The site will build itself as I am busy with Lilly, work and the Triplets.
Check it out-

Lilly Goes to School
3 Comments | Posted by Jenell in Lessons, Lilly, Miscellaneous, News, support
Starting on Monday, Lilly will be attending the Milwaukee Montessori School.
She will be attending half days in the mornings. This will help us out so much- currently one of us watches Lilly and the other is with the girls throughout the day. Coupled with the fact that Kerry is still working remotely on some projects AND he has been sick and unable to see the girls the last 2 days- it has been very dificult.
The school is great, they teach the toddlers art, music, dance- how to button their coats! they have play time outside. What we really like is that they have set routines everyday. The kids really get into a routine- which will be great for Lilly during this very chaotic time.
All of this was made possible unexpectedly, and by someone on the other side of the world ! Lilly’s aunt Holly- who lives in Thailand wanted to help out. Not an easy task from the other side of the world. Turns out this will help us more than if Holly was here standing next to us. It will give Lilly interaction with kids and give us time with the triplets. And to top it off , the school is less than a mile from the hospital.
It’s not easy to get into this school (it is a private school- not a daycare) especially as the summer programming only has 1 month left. Holly arranged the entire thing and she is paying for it too.
THANK YOU SO MUCH HOLLY !

Ronald McDonald House

(Kerry Here Live from the NICU family room with Lilly)
We got a room at the Ronald McDonald House. We are so relieved. We’ve called ~ 30 times a day . I have always seen the little Ronald McDonald House donation boxes but I never knew exactly what they were for- now I do. This is a really great place and a really needed service for parents (who live far away) with little ones hospitalized. I will be sure to donate in the future-
We are so lucky to get in, there is a huge waiting list. The Ronald McDonald House goes off of a waiting list until 4pm. After 4pm its open game and if you happen to call in after a room opens up it is yours. Thats how we got in. Otherwise there are like 20 people on the waiting list.
It is so nice here- We are so relieved mostly for Lilly, the instability of being away from home , away from her parents and in a diferent hotel or families house for the last 2 weeks has taken a toll on her. Thanks again to all of our great family that gave us a place to stay and everyone for helping out with Lilly.
This place has an actual McDonalds playroom with a slide and everything – as well as another playroom with every toy you could imagine. Lilly is in Heaven. In addition they have a computer room, video game room, chapel and a secret garden outside with several teepees or as Lilly says ” Look at the pee pees!”…
There is a kitchen too so we can have some normal sit down meals.
Anyways- The triplets are doing great. I bottle fed Emma and Alyssa yesterday- Jenell fed Katie. The girls are off of oxegon and caffeine- They are only on a feeding tube yet. The next step is to get them feeding and assuring they hold their heat in so we can get them out of the incubators.
The nurses here are amazing ! Next week we hope to get the girls feeding regulary , we have a car seat clinic to attend as well as infant cpr. We will keep you posted as we can.Â
